Daddy Pop's Journey

Lung Cancer. How scary is the thought? How difficult it must be for someone to live with the disease? Or for the family members who love someone so much battling this? I will be truthful and say that I have never thought twice about any cancer. Never knew what it took to cure cancers and honestly, never asked many questions to those few who I know with cancer.... until January 2012! My witty, loving and caring father, my daddy, was diagnosed in January with stage III/IV lung cancer. Since then my world has been in a bit of a fog. From one doctor to another, and after umpteenmillion questions and concerns, we are taking on the next steps to curing it. Daddy has starter Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments. We are coming together in agreement asking for the Lord's divine healing, we ask for understanding and peace as we continue to learn more about the disease and cures. We thank God for the Doctors knowledge and for guiding their hands and right use of words. We are most thankful for the prayer warriors we have out there including family, friends, loved one all over!! We have designed special prayer bracelets in honor of dad hoping to help us to rememeber to keep him in our prayers throughout our every day. The picture below is a family all the way in Michigan praying for daddy pop's healing!! AMEN and AMEN!!

It is already the middle of the year 2012. July and we have gone through the first round of treatments and gotten the results! 80% of the tumor has shrunk. Praise God!! Isn't He an awesome God! Dad spirits are high and we are glorifying our God! Dad has decided to take on a few more chemotherapy treatments to try to shrink it more and to reduce the risk of it moving into the blood or bones or anywhere for that matter. The doctors are very happy with the results and we are holding our head high that he will be cancer free and of good health with many more years to live under his belt! Here are some pictures of the family:
